Is any food more classically kid-friendly than peanut butter?
Homemade peanut butter is surprisingly easy to make. Blend three ingredients (peanuts, a tiny bit of oil, and sweetener) together, and *viola* you have fresh peanut butter-y goodness. So simple, nutritious, and economical!
I came across the cutest “How to” video posted by the ever so creative SAHM blogger, Marie LeBaron, of Make and Takes.
My favorite part of the video is when her kids yell “Peanut Butter!”. Too adorable.
Peanut allergies are the hot topic in schools these days – and quite scary! The beauty of this recipe is in its simplicity. Possible substitutes for peanuts could include: soynuts, almonds, sunflower seeds? Other sweeteners could include honey or maple syrup. And for a lower sugar alternative, stevia or agave could be great substitutes.
What creative twists would you take with your homemade peanut butter?
Some people in this world are timelessly relevant in life and death.
Mr. Rogers gave this Senate testimony in 1969. In all honesty, when I first I glanced at this video, I was annoyed at the length of clip (almost 7 minutes?!)… And yet, as the testimony unfolded, I was stricken with how his thoughts and words still ring true today. Watch as he earns $20 million in funding for PBS in less than 7 minutes from the irascible, impatient chairman of the Senate subcommittee, John O. Pastore.
Besides being a tireless advocate for children his entire life, Mr. Rogers was a subdued voice of reason and a reminder that there is good in the world.
He once told CNN, “I got into television because I hated it so, and I thought there’s some way of using this fabulous instrument to nurture those who would watch and listen.”
Watch this video. It’s just as relevant to children and adults; it’s seven minutes you will never regret.
This baby clearly has a lot on her mind. She has a few things that she just needs to get off her chest.
After a long day at work or trying day dealing with the kids, is this how men and women (mis)communicate at home?
Calling all the single babies!
In a very public declaration (some would say “fiasco”), Kayne expressed his high regard for the Beyonce video as “one of the best videos of all time”. Apparently, this baby agrees.
Rock on, little one. We love the diaper shake.
